Unable to add Reference for Selenium Type Library
Hello, When i cannot add the Selenium Type Library to the vba References, I get 'Name conflicts with existing module, project or object library'. Can anyone please help me to solve this issue?
Hello @phillips2000 ,
Seems like there is a conflict with module name and Selenium library. See if you have any module with name similar to
Selenium. If yes then try renaming them.
Also, try adding reference to Selenium in a new excel file. Let me know if that helps.
I added the Selenium Type Library to a new excel workbook successfully and for some unknown reason i am now able to add it to existing files as well. I am following the tutorial and when i run the vba line bot.Start "firefox", "http://google.com" i get a run-time error 21- Timeout firefox failed to open listening port 127.0.0.1:64004, when i try it with chrome i get a the error below , can you help me with this please?. Thanks for your help
One of the blog readers also had the same issue. You can read the disucssion here - https://codingislove.com/browser-automation-in-excel-selenium/#comment-518
This error occurs when the driver is outdated. Make sure that you have latest version of selenium wrapper which can be downloaded from here. Then Manually update the chrome driver.
Manually updating chrome driver :
First download latest chrome driver from here – https://sites.google.com/a/chromium.org/chromedriver/downloads then go to your selenium path – C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\SeleniumBasic and replace the chrome driver with the latest one and it should work fine.
Same for firefox, Make sure to have latest version of firefox and firefox driver and it should work fine. Chrome is more stable compared to firefox though.
Thanks very much. It working now
